Testimonials

I've gone along to the Edinburgh Charity Game four years in a row now and as an event it gets better every year. The fact that Hibs currently have the upper hand having won twice has nothing to do with it of course.  Great event, well organised from Programmes to team strips and medals and it's always a cracking match.

Heart of Midlothian Football Club was pleased to work with supporters from both Edinburgh clubs on what has been a highly impressive project, both of fundraising and in the important social message of bringing rival supporters together. With clear aims they've developed a concept that we as a football club were very pleased to support and be associated with.
Lawrence Broadie, Marketing Manager, Heart of Midlothian FC

The 'Premier Event' in Edinburgh for football supporters is the Derby, but these supporters have created their own unique event which sees only one winner.............Charity.
The dedication and enthusiasm of the Team made up from both Hibernian and Hearts Supporters, who set rivalry aside to dedicate their own time and effort to grow this event year on year should be applauded.

Garry O'Hagan, Director/Club Secretary, Hibernian FC

CCLASP would like to thank Scott Moncrieff & 'rivals4charity' for all the hard work and commitment in raising valuable and much appreciated funds for the children and parents that we support. This years donation is even greater considering the current economic climate. Thank you once again Scott and 'rivals4charity'.

The Edinburgh charity game organised a football match between Hibs fans and Hearts fans in February 2008 at Tynecastle Stadium on behalf of Maggie's cancer caring centre.  The event was organised and managed by a committee of individuals who were professional and on time with all their promises to the charity.  The event raised over £10,000 and the Edinburgh Charity game took on the full organisation of this event from designing the programmes to organising the players sponsorship it truly was a fantastic family event.

What a fantastic event it was! Not only did the match and associated events raise thousands of pounds for Simpsons Special Care Babies but it provided a day of great entertainment and enabled many of the footballers involved to realise their dreams of playing on the same turf as their heroes.

Scott and the committee's organisational skills were fabulous and they kept me suitably informed of how things were progressing from the outset. I was impressed by the amount of publicity they secured  - newspapers, football magazines and a very professional interview from Scott and John on the radio.

I'm glad to say it seems this has become an annual event in Edinburgh, bringing together rival fans from across the city for a bit of friendly competition and to raise funds for charity.

A big thanks to the Edinburgh Charity Game committee once more - it was a pleasure to be involved in this event with you. Simpsons Special Care Babies Charity would be pleased to support you in any future venture.

After managing the Hearts team for the Charity game in 2008 I can now empathise with every emotion a 'real' manager would go through, Not just on match day, but the whole build up, from training, coaching, team bonding to Media interviews.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience AND a great way to help charitable causes.

Callum Anderson, Coach of the Hearts Fans Squad 2008 and 2009

We were extremely glad to be given the opportunity to support this great event and the charity associated with it.  Scott and Sharon and everyone involved put in an enormous amount of effort and it really showed on the day with everything running perfectly and everyone having a great time.  A truly memorable occasion.

We've featured the Edinburgh Charity Game on air over the past couple of years in the Forth Action slots on 97.3ForthOne and 1548Forth2. These slots feature local people, groups, organisations and events in Edinburgh, the Lothian's and Fife.

The guys who organise the Game have come in to the studios ahead of the match and told us a bit about what they're up to, and we've been delighted to let our listeners know what it's all about. They've raised thousands of pounds for local charities over the last few years with their simple idea. The match is well-organised, and supported by the two big football clubs in the city, and we wish the organisers all the best for many more successful years ahead.
